Club TF Championships GraphicThe 2010 USATF National Club Track & Field Championships will be held at San Francisco State University on July 9-10, USATF has announced.   The Club Track & Field Championships is an event that supports USATF's goal to enhance and expand opportunities for open level, club-based team competition.
 
"We are extremely pleased that the Club Championships are returning to the west coast and to an area that is a hotbed for our sport and its club programs," said USATF Director of Grass Roots Programs Andy Martin. 
 
This marks the second time in the meet's 10-year history that the meet will be held in California. The 2006 National Club Track & Field Championships, held at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, featured more than 300 athletes from 30 states, representing 47 different clubs.
 
"The meet's return to west coast is part of a site rotation strategy designed to grow the meet's regional exposure and participation," says Devon Martin, chairperson of the USATF Club Council. New York City and Olathe, Kan. hosted the previous two championships.
 
At last year's championships in New York, the Shore Athletic Club (New Jersey) captured the men's team title and the Greater Boston Track Club (New England) claimed the women's title.  Both clubs will look to defend their titles in July in San Francisco.
